Whats your price extent? That's #1. For normal users, you want a laptop near atleast 1 GB ram and have Vista Premium. Hp/Compaq is a good brand for those credentials. Toshiba isn't desperate either.

DVD R+/- RW drive with Double Layer support



or Blu-ray drives and burners ( this costs alot tho)
