What's the concrete difference between a Macbook and Macbook Pro?

I'm looking to purchase a hot Mac, and right now the behind the times 2.16 GHz Macbook Pro's are listed at $1999.99 (these prices are Canadian) and the strange Macbook's with alike processor speed, hard drive and memory are scheduled at $1399.99. I know there's the difference in blind size, but are there other significant differences between these 2 machines to warrant me spending an extra $600?
