Well, if you're downloading videos or anything approaching that, then yeah, a GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) would be a appropriate thing to own. It allows the computer to use something other than its own processor and memory to run the video/game. On a laptop it would modernize performance of everything greatly.
It's appropriate, if you can get the GT copy.



Porn will work for any video card.
If you're wanting to play games, get it.



If you're using it for arts school, work, etc. and don't want to do anything too graphics intensive don't bother.

disceet ( not shared ) memory.. and thats a good item ( i have the shift 7300 ), though drivers updates are tougher to get than typical 7 series as all run based driver are NOT properly supported by nvidia since it a mobile chipset and it's the vendors repsonsibility to write the OEM specific driver ( surrounded by my case Toshiba )

BTW porn would be fine on a even a shared video ( intel 945x series )
It's a graphics card for playing computer games. That should be plenty to tell you if you want it or not. Its a pretty honourable one too at that. I have it contained by my laptop and its perfect for almost anygame.





If you want my true and honest assessment, you should get the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX 256MB PCIe . It's a top of the splash graphics card for only $120. Its not the best but im assuming you prob dont want to pay envelope $600 for the 8800 GT
