Based past its sell-by date what will happen beside my computer 1 if I do put in a New Hard drive and I do get hold of the no operating system found messasge what should I do? By the way I own a new copy of window vista Home premium. thanks
What will Happen With my computer 2?
Back up adjectives your data, verbs it to another computer, reinstall the hard drive, AND INSTALL THE OS.
All you enjoy to do is put that cd in the cdrom, press F2 to enter the bios, check your boot sequence. I as a rule set the cd rom first, then the complicated drive second and any other devices afterwards. Most computers dont have floppy drives anyway. Save adjectives changes. The computer should reboot itself and it will display press any push button to boot to cd. Then vista will lead you through a few screen. If it sees the concrete drive it will display. I normally press drive option and format. Then after it has formatted it will start loading. Thats all you enjoy to do.
This probably means that you own your jumpers set wrong.
On the subsidise of each firm drive, there should be a set of 8 pins (2x4) and instructions on where on earth to place a jumper (basically a small piece of plastic beside some metal inside to create a circuit).
You want to set your jumpers so that your old-fashioned hard drive (the one next to the operating system) is the master or primary drive. You want to set the new frozen drive so that it is the slave or secondary drive. (The terminology depends on how PC your businessman wants to be.)
Pop contained by that lovely windows vista cd and install it and consequently try to back up your information from the other harddrive onto a DVD or usb drive and put it in your untried 80gb hdd
should work up absolutely fine
